The two versions of Moby Dick give me different understandings.
The text tells more information but I can not imagine the situations. The movie does not have as much details as the book but I have a better understanding of the characters' emotions. Since the book is not as attractive, the movie helps me understand the book better.
I agree that it can be kind of difficult to focus on the text of Moby Dick. So even when you lose the insight into the characters while viewing the movies, it helps to see the action rather than trying to figure everything out on your own.
ReplyDeleteIt is true that the text part is pretty boring, and also it is really hard to read. I really feel confused as I reading the text part that the content trend to be a grotesque form. The movie seems more understandable compare to the text part. Also it is also very interesting to see different characters act in the movie.
ReplyDeleteI also agree, the visuals in the movie were a great support for creating a mental image of what is happening in the book.
